Each local Street Pastor group has to be a charity. Rather then setting up Street Pastors for Grays, Tilbury, Chafford Hundred, we choose to set up a charity which had as its operating area the whole of Thurrock. This meant only one set of trustess, only one treasurer, one chair, etc.

Having help a number of groups become charities I was amazed at the speed of processing the application. This is down to all the work of Ascension Trust in creating a template for the local Street Pastors to use. The application was submitted on Thursday afternoon and approval was given on Monday morning
